I Love You Black Man Woman and Child

This program will initiate the dialogue of trust, peaceful and safe living in Black communities. Blacks must feel they are all working through the same struggles for a productive journey in life. The I Love You Black, Man, Woman and Child Project in partnership with Jewish allies will work in partnership with faith-based leaders of all denominations and the private sector. The BMFSL Foundation staff and our partners will venture to specific neighborhoods in the Black community, embracing and communicating with all aspects of that constituency. Palm cards will be distributed to the Black community about what is needed for our community to begin the process of healing, working together and loving oneself and each other.

We will encourage local neighborhood Black residents to adopt the concepts of information on the palm cards to their daily rituals in the community. Here are a few examples; say something nice or give a compliment to three Black people who they don’t know daily. Adopt and support a senior citizen in the community. Help neighbors shovel snow. Support a Black child and assist that child with their educational needs. The list goes on and on as a guide for Black Community Love. As we conduct these monthly sessions in communities across Boston, the numbers will grow after each community invasion. We will collect vital data for research and membership purposes. This will be our first opportunity to reach out to the community to begin the thought process of civic engagement. In other words, creating a buzz. We will initially bring our new civil rights movement to the community at a grass roots level, engaging individuals in our community back to the basics. This will lead to our second

initiative:

BLACK LOVE DIRECTIVE (BLD)

“Black love is a reminder that we are worthy of love, respect and happiness” -bell hooks

  • When BLACK PEOPLE vote and participate in elections, all things are possible
  • Every day, speak kindly to three people in your community because nothing is more powerful than showing love and respect to others.
  • Compliment other Blacks in your community you don’t know every day. Kind words go a long way. (Examples: I love your hair. Those sneakers are fly. Wow you sound like a very intelligent young lady. I love to meet intelligent Black people like yourself.)
  • Love our children who ride school buses. Stop when the bus lights are flashing.
  • Children learn by observing their parents’ behavior. So, take them along when you vote and educate them on how to do the same
  • Respect and protect pedestrians: Stop when people are in the crosswalk,
  • Assist our senior citizens and help them when they need assistance.
  • Young people stop the gun violence
  • Help your neighbors shovel snow in front of their houses and cars
  • Support our children to compete! Donate clothes, money, educational and recreational supplies to support our children.
  • Correct individuals in our community that are publicly being disrespectful to others in a respectful non-confrontational manner (Example: Students on public transportation swearing and yelling)
  • Connect with a house of worship and get involved
  • Adults buy neighborhood kids snacks at the corner store; Use good grades and other methods as an incentive
  • Support and reward academic achievement of our students by promoting a culture of educational excellence among our schoolchildren
  • Be a kind, patient and loving person because it will change our community for the better
  • Take pride in how your neighborhood looks! Don’t litter and clean up the trash in your neighborhood
  • Vote, vote and vote again and in all elections year after year
  • Develop and participate with neighborhood community groups that improve the well-being of BLACK PEOPLE
  • Find ways to support those who are less fortunate than you because your help can make all the difference to them
  • Help three young people in your neighborhood dream and achieve their dreams
  • Teach our young people financial literacy like the importance of good credit, buying a home and financial security
  • Present yourself with elegance, grace and class at all times
  • Spend money with Black businesses
  • Black people vote, vote, vote
  • BLACK PEOPLE be kind and courteous to all cultures, races, religions and genders
